I thought about writing about my love of cooking, baking and collecting the well loved. I love the smell of a loaf of bread baking. I am new to bread baking but I am giving it my all to try for that perfect loaf of bread. I used to have discussions with my Mom about antiques. She was born in 1926 and loved new. I love the old. She would tell me she grew up with the old and was tired of seeing it. She wanted fresh and new. But for her love of fresh and new we would attend together auctions, tag it sales, garage sales and the what-nots...she would collect OLD glassware, dollies and silver. I think she didn't care for the old dark furniture that I love so much. She passed away this past May and I brought home some of her collectables. So now that I have completely rambled on....I hope to show you some of my loves here.
I wanted to see how you got started blogging. My mom died in May too, she was a couple years younger than your mom. It is hard isn't it? I also have many treasures from my mom that show up often on my tablescapes.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry for your loss.
Thank you. And I am sorry for yours. It is hard. Some days so very hard. I'm really not sure how or why I started this blog. I had been tossing it up for a while. I figured I'd start one and see how it goes. So far I'm liking it. I can't believe all the lovely lovely blogs out here. Thank you so much for stopping by. Take care...and again I'm sorry for the loss of your Mom too.
ReplyDeleteI was just looking at your blog from back in May Sue....my Mom passed the day before yours on the 12th of a massive stroke. Her first major stroke was in April also. She was able to speak but it was rough for her to. Your Mom sounded wonderful...as mine was also. Again...take care.
ReplyDeleteKim..sorry about the loss of your mom! Welcome to blogging!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Gail
Thank you Gail. I keep waiting for the day it will seem to be easier...so far not much luck.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the welcome. :)
